Where he started
Aarav joined the cohort eight months before CLAT, with a mock rank in the low 4,000s and a clean but unfocused study pattern. Like many Class 12 aspirants from non-metro schools, he'd done the reading but hadn't mapped his own losses.
The first diagnostic mock put him inside the bottom half of the cohort. That was useful — it reframed the conversation from 'how do I study more' to 'where exactly am I leaking marks'.
What changed
Two things compounded. The error-log showed that a chunk of his losses were in the current-affairs and legal-reasoning intersection — questions where policy updates sat on top of a principle-fact frame. Once we named that, the study changed shape.
The second was timed answer drills every Sunday for the last twelve weeks. Not more mocks — more repetition of the same mock patterns under time. His median section time dropped by nine minutes.
Where he is now
First year at NLSIU. Already mooting. Says he'll come back to the cohort as a peer mentor next year — which we hold him to.
Other outcomes worth reading.
“The Mains answer-writing loop was the part that changed me. Three evaluated answers a week, returned within 48 hours — you watch your own prose sharpen over forty weeks.”
“We went into diligence expecting to spend three weeks cleaning up. The lead investor's counsel asked one follow-up and moved on. That's the bar we wrote the pack to.”
“My mocks had a plateau I couldn't shake. The 1:1 mentor pushed me off it in three weeks — not by teaching more content, by changing how I read the passage.”
