Privacy policy

This policy describes what personal data Izel Legal (“we”, “us”) collects from visitors, how we use it, and the rights you hold over it — under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and the DPDP Rules.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run a legal education platform: your name, email address, phone number, linkedin Id, college details, the facts and documents you choose to share on a discovery call or during an engagement, and any materials (drafts, applications, answer scripts) you submit to us for review within a course.

Purpose

Purposes are limited to (a) delivering the mentorship, courses, workshops, seminar or any other legal event you have booked; (b) responding to enquiries; (c) billing, invoicing and statutory compliance (including GST reporting); and (d) with your consent, occasional updates about courses you have expressed an interest in.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. Processor relationships are limited to: Resend (transactional email), Cal.com (scheduling), and Vercel (hosting). Each processor has signed a written data-processing agreement compliant with the DPDP Rules.

Retention

Enquiry emails: 24 months. Consultation records and written opinions: 7 years, consistent with the Bar Council of India’s record-keeping conventions. Course enrolment and assessment records: 3 years post-completion. Financial records: 8 years, per the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Companies Act, 2013.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data at any time by writing to us. We respond within the statutory timelines. Where erasure would conflict with our statutory retention obligations (tax, Bar Council), we will explain the conflict and the residual data category.
