About

A small practice, built around the advocates who lead it.

Izel Legal is based in New Delhi. Four partner advocates. Six faculty. A deliberate cap on consultations per month, and on cohort size per course.

The practice, and why it exists

Izel Legal was founded in 2019 by three advocates — two from the Delhi High Court bar and a former Judicial Service officer — with a narrow conviction. The conviction was that Indian legal services and Indian legal education had drifted in the same unhelpful direction: opaque pricing, ghost-written opinions from junior associates, and coaching centres that sold volume instead of outcomes. Our founding bet was that a small practice, run on the opposite principle, would find its audience.

Six years in, we run four flagship courses, take a capped number of private consultations each month, and deliver seminars for corporates and CLE workshops for practising advocates. Every consultation ends in a written opinion on firm letterhead. Every course is taught by an advocate still in live practice, a Senior Counsel, or a retired judicial officer. That is the bar.

What “Izel” means

Izel is a Sanskrit-adjacent word meaning firm, steadfast. We kept the old-English “Legal” in the name as a plain-language anchor — a reminder that this is, first and last, a legal practice.

Where we sit — and where we don’t

We are a consultancy and an education practice. We do not run litigation as a firm. When a consultation needs to move into litigation, we brief our empanelled advocates — and you deal with them, directly, as their client. That separation matters. It keeps us honest on our consultation fees, and keeps your advocate honest on theirs.

What we believe

Four principles we write down and live by.

01

Opinions in writing

Every paid consultation ends in a written opinion note on firm letterhead. We sign what we say.

02

Senior advocates only

No junior associates ghost-writing on letterhead. The advocate you book is the advocate you get.

03

Clarity before billing

We scope before we invoice. You'll know the cost and the shape of the engagement before you pay.

04

The Bar's rules, by the letter

We operate under the Bar Council of India's rules on advertising and solicitation. You will not see touting, boasting, or guaranteed outcomes from us.

Chambers

The advocates, faculty, and mentors who run the practice.

Every 30-minute discovery call is conducted by a partner advocate or senior faculty member — not a call-centre. You'll know in the half-hour whether we are the right fit.
